NEW: Jane's Riding Habit!
Introducing one of the final designs in the Jane Austen Collection: "Jane was therefore obliged to go on horseback, and her mother attended her to the door with many cheerful prognostics of a bad day." - Pride & Prejudice, ch. 7
Inspired by this equestrian journey to the Bingley's, Jane's Riding Habit is a dress I have dreamed of making for a long time. This design is based on extant examples of riding habits and made in a lightweight wool. Made of two pieces, it can mix-and-match with other items in your Regency wardrobe to create greater variety, as well.

Let customers speak for us
from 58 reviewsI bought this gown fromJane Austen’s Closet. Tiffany made the alteration and hemmed it for me immediately. The gown arrived and looked immaculate; it looked like it had never been worn. It fit perfectly and I am already considering how the look could be changed ed with a different petticoat.. I was very satisfied with this purchase.
This set is so beautiful, especially the details! I've had it since the beginning of 2022 and it still looks and feels brand new! It's very versatile and made a great pirate costume one year, I also look forward to possibly wearing it to a Renaissance faire in the future. I love this shop and will always highly recommend them!
I put this pelisse on over my Lizzy's Walking Gown for a walk with my dear neighbors. The design of the Pelisse allows me to close with one fastener, or close the coat from the Empire waistline to the top. I have so much fun with the ways I wear this and what I wear it with. Mary's Pelisse was worth every dollar I paid for it. I find it dresses up for my entrance at a ball, or out on a walk. Quality must be noted in Tiffany's work. I feel so stunning in it as the coat has this magic way of attracting compliments. It is all that.
This dress is versatile in many ways. I have paired it with a number of Spencer jackets and open robes, or by itself with a wrap. I pull the ruffle on the wrist out of my jackets to feel extra fancy at a morning tea. The design is a perfect one to walk in, and so nice under a pelisse, or by a fire. The work of Stichin Addiction and Tiffany is outstanding. She has made many of my favorite Regency Era outfits. The communication and integrity is stellar. This dress is one of them. I keep coming back because I most definitely need this one in a different fabric at some future time.
This is a well-made Petticoat and Habit Shirt by Tiffany. We have a yearly event at a local club, and I had the opportunity to wear this ensemble. It wore beautifully under a redingote and on its own. The fit is great, and I felt good in the Regency Era garb.
This gown is perfectly made and fit like a dream. It has beautiful lines from the striped cotton lawn. I am delighted with it.
the dress is beautifully made and fits perfectly. The fabric is soft and drapes well. My only disappointment is my husband's crtiticism of the button holes in the back. he thinks they would be easier to work with, if they were oriented vertically..
The communication with Tiffany is outstanding. Her fit at a distance is also in the same category. I work long hours and do not have time to sew, so my Regency Era wardrobe is curated. Stichin' Addiction has become my favorite. Today was our Washington Regency Picnic. The Miss Lambes Day Dress was my pick to enjoy our picnic lunch, a fine tea, and then promenade by the river. My dress was beautifully made, it accessorizes quite well, and really is perfect for a warm summer day. Highly recommend this one.
I'm a Regency Era fan and love to dance the style, and attend events in Washington and Oregon(we have some amazing people in both WRS and ORS). I have a rather large collection of Regency attire. In that collection are eight pieces of Stitchin' Addiction Modiste work. "Mary's Round Gown" I have in brown and blue. First, the fit at a distance is outstanding. Second, the customer service is stellar. Third, the work is QUALITY! Fourth, I am an older woman with a difficult body to fit. Tiffany Gayle hit a significant bullseye in all of the outfits she made for me. Bravo.
I now own 7 regency pieces made by this talented modiste. The fabrics are high quality, the garment construction is historically based, and the garments are as beautiful as they are durable and functional. I would recommend Tiffany to anyone looking for historical clothing. She is an expert sewist, a true professional, and a genuinely delightful person to boot.
I had such an amazing experience i absolutely love my dress and feel like i’m a part of Bridgerton Thank you so much!!
I cannot say enough about the exemplary quality of my experience working with Tiffany. Every step of the way led to the wedding dress of my dreams! It was absolute perfection!!
i found tiffany through adelaide beeman-white, and boy am i glad i did! first, tiffany made me the gorgeous beige/white skirt adelaide modeled--it quickly became one of my favorite dance skirts (BOY, did i get a lot of compliments when i wore it dancing friday night! and did i mention that tiffany put in POCKETS? because she put in ginormous POCKETS!). so i've been wanting something like a victorian wrapper dress. so tiffany adapted jo's adventure dress exactly to my specifications and measurements, and IT. IS. GLORIOUS!! it's a lovely soft ditzy print pink/white cotton; it arrived respectfully and carefully packaged in a box and smelling delightfully freshly laundered. and, of course, IT HAS GINORMOUS POCKETS. so i put it on and immediately decided i was going to wear it for the rest of the day. or week. or at least until it needs laundered! i just love it! you'll love anything tiffany makes for you, too. she is careful and clear in her communications, and her makes are executed with first-rate skill and care. you KNOW i'll be back next time i want to history-bound! :)
It fits perfectly based on the measurements I submitted.
Tiffany did an AMAZING job on my custom dress! She was very communicative during the process and I love how involved I was in picking out everything from fabric to buttons. The dress fits perfectly and is so well made! I cannot wait to wear it and I know I will be going to Tiffany for my future custom and historical needs.
I wish I could give her 10 stars!
