Inspired by multiple extant gowns and fashion plates featuring dresses with large floral stripe prints, this afternoon gown is perfect for a trip to Europe with Aunt March!

There is only ONE (1) available of this Limited Edition design, so purchase now if you want this afternoon gown!  The skirt will be made to fit over an elliptical hoop and the bodice will be made in the Meg's Afternoon Gown design (a $699 value).  This afternoon gown is available in all sizes from XS to 5X.

ALL THE DETAILS

This afternoon gown is made-to-order. Within 3-5 business days of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit. 

All pieces will be made in the 100% silk taffeta plum plaid shown in the listing photo.

This afternoon dress features:

• 100% cotton satin batiste with white ground and large floral and scallop pattern in blue and purple
• two pieces: a matching skirt and bodice
• a fully lined and boned "V" shaped bodice
• dropped shoulders
• darts in the front and princess seams in the back for a close-fitting bodice
• front button closure and center back skirt closure
• "coat" sleeves
• a skirt width between 150" and 180" to generously accommodate a hoop skirt
• a gored skirt that is fitted in front and pleated on sides and back
• a hem faced with a coordinating cotton fabric
• two roomy pockets, hidden in the side seams of the skirt

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this gown is pictured over a corset, crinoline, and petticoats, but no corset, crinoline, or petticoats are included with this listing. This gown is made to fit over a historical corset and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments. However, if you would like your commissioned gown to fit over modern undergarments, please send an email, and I will be happy to oblige!

The dress will be hemmed to accommodate hoops and sit about 2" off the floor, based on the measurements you provide on the measurement worksheet.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but this gown will be dry clean only.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
