Garibaldi blouses were popular with young women during the years of the American Civil War, as the blouse was inspired by a military uniform.  This blouse is paired with a silk skirt for a stunning set.

ALL THE DETAILS

This Zouave ensemble is a women's size 8-10 (medium) and is ideal for heights of about 5'6" to 5'8".  It includes a skirt and Garibaldi blouse.

The Victorian era SKIRT is made of a 100% silk fabric that has wide stripes in gold, bronze, and burgundy.  It features:

• a fully pleated skirt
• a waistband and hidden placket that closes with hook and bar
• a skirt width of 136" to comfortably accommodate a hoop skirt of about 120"
• a hem faced with a coordinating cotton fabric
• a burgundy decorative hem band

The skirt MEASUREMENTS are as follows:

• waistband: 30.5"
• length: 45"

The Garibaldi BLOUSE is made of a cotton/polyester broadcloth for easy care.  It features:

• two tiny pleats on each side of the button-down front
• lace edging on the high, round neckline
• dropped shoulders
• a fully gathered sleeve at both the armhole and the cuff
• lace insertion in the sleeves
• a button down front and button up cuffs
• darts in the front and back of the blouse
• a tail long enough to tuck into the skirt

The blouse MEASUREMENTS are as follows:

• bust: 39"
• waist: 33"
• back neck to hem: 19"
• sleeve length (underarm to end of cuff): 18.5"
  

Please note: This set is deeply discounted for two reasons.  Due to the darts, this blouse is not 100% historically accurate.  It has been discounted at 50% off and still is very historically approximate.  The silk used in making the skirt has a few small spots that were on the fabric when I purchased it, and I could not completely removed them.  These spots have been strategically placed in the least noticeable areas, and the skirt is discounted at 30% off.

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this set is pictured over a corset and crinoline/hoops, but no corset or crinoline/hoops are included with this listing.

Measure your bust and waist to see if the set will fit you. For the most accurate fit, please take the measurements while wearing your corset and other undergarments (i.e. chemise, petticoat, etc) that you plan to wear under the outfit. The skirt should sit about 2" off the ground.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

Please measure yourself while wearing the corset and other undergarments you plan to wear with the ensemble and remember that measurements such as your bust and waist should be smaller than the dress measurements by an inch or more, to allow for ease of movement.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

The blouse can be machine washed and dried on low heat. It can be pressed with an iron on the cotton setting. The skirt is dry clean only and may be ironed on low heat or steamed.

All items are prewashed and preshrunk. Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items that have buttons on them come with an extra button sewn inside.
