Elinor's Apron (1800-1815)

Be your own Elinor Dashwood in this high-quality, historically accurate Regency apron. As a custom piece, this item is professionally handmade at my Texas (USA) studio and order fulfillment takes 10-12 weeks. Please see the website header for a current estimate on the month your order will be shipped to you. Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

ALL THE DETAILS

This apron is one size fits all; however, I will request your underbust measurement and height so that I can hem it to the correct length and place the buttons on the waistband in the correct place.  Within 48 hours of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit. 

The apron features: 

• 100% cotton or linen fabric
• shoulder straps that crisscross in the back and button into the back waistband
• a back tie
• a slightly gathered skirt
• a skirt width that comes around each side
• a skirt hemmed to fall just above the hem of your Regency dress

The apron is shown over a Regency dress, chemise, and undergarments, but none of these items come with this purchase. Because of the adjustability of this apron, it fits over both historical undergarments and modern day undergarments.

A note on fabric choices:

• white or khaki linen are the most historically accurate choices currently available
• the cotton prints shown are fun, but not necessarily historically accurate choices

Current fabric choices are shown with inspiration photos to help you visualize the dress in that fabric.  These inspiration photos are either photos of extant dresses or period fashion plates.  They serve ONLY as inspiration and do NOT depict exactly how your dress will be made. Once you order, I will contact you to discuss measurements and confirm exact details.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but this aproncan be machine-washed on a cold, gentle cycle.  It should be dried on low heat and pressed with a warm iron.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
