Limited Edition: Holiday Plaid Transformation Gown (1864-1869)

Inspired by a festive plaid transformation gown, this plaid silk transformation gown is sure to make you the belle of all your holiday events! 

There is only ONE (1) available of this Limited Edition design, so purchase now if you want this transformation gown!  The skirt will be made to fit over an elliptical hoop with a ruffle add-on, the ball bodice will be made in the Jo's Ball Gown design, and the day bodice will be made in Meg's Afternoon Gown design (a $2,069 value).  Trimmings will be done in the pictured vintage red trim (instead of the green seen on the original). This 3-piece transformation gown is available in all sizes from XS to 5X.

ALL THE DETAILS

This transformation gown is made-to-order. Within 3-5 business days of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit. 

All pieces will be made in the 100% silk taffeta holiday plaid shown in the listing photo.

The skirt features:

• a gored skirt with a width of 165" or more
• a waistband with a back closure
• a hem facing of cotton
• two roomy pockets, hidden in the side seams of the skirt
• ruffle and trim on the skirt 

The ball bodice features:

• fully interlined and boned bodice
• off the shoulder neckline
• ribbon through the lace at the neck of the dress
• a removable collar (berthe) that is pointed and trimmed, like the original
• a button front closure
  
• short, puffed sleeves with trimming

The afternoon bodice includes:

• a fully lined and boned "V" shaped bodice
• dropped shoulders
• darts in the front and princess seams in the back for a close-fitting bodice
• front button closure
• "coat" sleeves
• decorative trim on the sleeves and bodice

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this transformation gown is pictured over a corset, crinoline, and petticoats, but no corset, crinoline, or petticoats are included with this listing. This transformation gown is made to fit over a historical corset and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments. However, if you would like your commissioned transformation gown to fit over modern undergarments, please send an email, and I will be happy to oblige!

The dress will be hemmed to accommodate hoops and sit about 2" off the floor, based on the measurements you provide on the measurement worksheet.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but this transformation gown will be dry clean only.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
