Catherine's Cloak (1795-1820)
Catherine's Cloak (1795-1820)
Step out of the gothic castles of Wuthering Heights or Northanger Abbey in this high-quality, historically accurate Regency-era cloak. This wool cloak will keep you warm at any event this winter. Whether you are an attendee at an event, a historical reenactor, an actress in theatre, or an avid admirer of gothic literature, this accessory will evoke moors and mists!
Cloaks during the Regency era were one of the few items that were bought off the rack; because they required no fitting, they could be made ahead of time ready to sell. Red Regency cloaks were ubiquitous across the countryside of Regency England, and they were relatively cheap compared to a fitted pelisse or redingote, so they were favored by the working class. It is based off extant examples of Regency cloaks.
When you purchase a made-to-order item, you get the cloak of your dreams by choosing the fabric from the drop-down options, providing measurements for a custom fit, and even purchasing extra available add-ons!
