Limited Edition: Kirsten's Birthday Dress in Adult Style (1840s-1860s)

Inspired by the birthday dress worn by the American Girl doll Kirsten Larson in Happy Birthday, Kirsten, this Limited Edition dress is an adult version of Kirsten's dress.  It will be made in a pink gingham cotton very similar to the original one worn by Kirsten.

There is only ONE (1) available of this design, so purchase now if you want this dress!  The dress will be made in the Jo's Adventure Dress design (a $499 value) with closure and sleeve options (read below for more details).  It will also include a white pinafore (a $199 value).  This dress is available in all sizes from XS to 5X.

As a custom piece, this item is professionally handmade at my Texas (USA) studio and order fulfillment takes 12-14 weeks. Please see the website header for a current estimate on the month your order will be shipped to you. Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

ALL THE DETAILS

This dress is made-to-order to your measurements. Within 3-5 business days of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit.

The dress includes:

• a fully lined, "O" shaped bodice
• dropped shoulders
• gathers in the front and back waistline to gather the bodice to the waistband
• front OR back button closure (your choice - back button is historically accurate for children's styles while front button was for adults)
• short puffed sleeves gathered to a cuff and trimmed with lace
• a skirt width of 80" to 100" (to be worn over petticoats, but not a crinoline)
• one or more 1" tucks at the hem
• a hem faced with coordinating cotton fabric.
• two roomy pockets, hidden in the side seams of the skirt

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this gown should be worn with a corset and petticoats, but no corset or petticoats are included with this listing. This dress is made to fit over a historical corset and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments. However, if you would like your commissioned dress to fit over modern undergarments, please send an email, and I will be happy to oblige!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Care instructions will be included with your order, but this cotton dress can be washed in cold and hung or laid flat to dry.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
