A chemisette was usually worn during the day to fill in the neckline of low-neck Regency styles for both warmth and modesty purposes. This chemisette is made-to-order in the size that you choose from the drop down. There are design variations (based on who we think would have worn each style in Pride and Prejudice) and each variation is based off extant examples that can be found here.
When you purchase a made-to-order item, you get the chemisette of your dreams by choosing the fabric from the drop-down options, providing measurements for a custom fit, and even purchasing extra available add-ons! (Search the website for “add-ons” to see what’s available!) Please note that trims such as lace, braid, etc. will vary slightly depending on stock available. As a custom piece, this item is professionally handmade at my Texas (USA) studio and order fulfillment takes 10-12 weeks. Please see the website header for a current estimate on the month your order will be shipped to you. Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

ALL THE DETAILS
The chemisette includes:
- 100% cotton voile in white
- a cotton twill tape drawstring in the underbust band
- a front closure where the drawstring(s) ties shut
There are four style options:
- The Lizzy: a round-neck chemisette with one ruffle at the neck
- The Jane: a round-neck chemisette with a double ruffle at the neck and pintucks on the entire chemisette
- The Charlotte: a round-neck collared chemisette with ruffles down the front opening
- The Lydia: a v-neck chemisette with eyelet trim around the neck
The chemisette is shown over the proper undergarments, a chemise and stays, but no chemise or stays come with this purchase.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
A care card will be included with your order, but this chemisette can be machine washed in cold water, dried on low heat, and pressed with a hot iron.
All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing. Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.
Items that have buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
