Feel like a Victorian woman of leisure in this high-quality, historically accurate mid-Victorian wrapper. Whether you are an attendee at an event, a historical reenactor, an actress in theatre, or an avid admirer of the books by Louisa May Alcott, this dress will make you feel like the ladies of means that Meg always envied!

A wrapper was worn around the home as a woman was preparing for the day.  She would don all of her proper undergarments and put the wrapper on top to lounge for the morning.  This wrapper is the perfect way to add a touch of history to your every day wardrobe or to level up your historical impression.

These wrappers ready to ship to you in just 3-5 business days and are the only wrappers available in these sizes, fabrics, and designs.  These are available at a reduced price; a made-to-measure wrapper in this design would start at $499.  Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

ALL THE DETAILS

Please pay attention to the size for each wrapper, as well as the size chart, to make sure you choose the wrapper that best fits you!

These 1860s-1870s wrappers are made of 100% cotton and based on an extant wrapper from a local historical fashion collection.  They feature:

  • a fully lined back bodice that has a drawstring in the back waist which comes around to tie in the front and serves as a waist stay, holding the wrapper in place
  • a loose front that has ties on top so that you can tie it comfortably in place
  • dropped shoulders
  • a collar made of a coordinating fabric
  • front button closure to the waist
  • long pagoda sleeves
  • a coordinating trim on sleeves, front, and hem
  • a skirt width of 100" (this wrapper is best worn with either a corded petticoat or a small hoop of 100")
  • a hem faced with solid cotton fabric
  • two roomy pockets, hidden in the side seams of the skirt

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, the wrapper is pictures over a corset and regular petticoat.  However, no corset or petticoats are included with this listing.

Measure your bust and waist to see if the wrapper will fit you. For the most accurate fit, please take the measurements while wearing your corset and other undergarments (i.e. chemise, petticoat, etc) that you plan to wear under the outfit. The skirt should sit about 2" off the ground.

Alterations can be completed for an additional cost; please message us to discuss alterations and get a price quote.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

Please measure yourself while wearing the corset and other undergarments you plan to wear with the wrapper and remember that measurements such as your bust and waist should be smaller than the wrapper measurements by an inch or more, to allow for ease of movement.

Refer to the measurement graphic in the listing and the video tutorial if you need assistance in understanding and taking your measurements.

If you still have additional questions, please feel free to message me. If you would like it altered to fit your measurements, please message me for alteration pricing, as that will be an additional cost.
