Live out your Jane Austen dreams in a perfectly tailored, high-quality, historically accurate Regency era day ensemble. Whether you are an attendee at an event, a historical reenactor, an actress in theatre, or an avid admirer of Jane Austen's works, this complete ensemble will make you feel like your favorite Austen heroine.
While we most commonly see long, one-piece dresses in Regency era period dramas, short gown and colorful petticoat ensembles are seen in many fashion plates and artist depictions of the era. This design was especially useful for the working class, as it allowed more economy in fabric and an ability to mix and match pieces. The short gown in this ensemble is based on extant examples (and is the same design as Mary's Day Dress).
This dress was made for a photoshoot and worn three times. It is the only Regency ensemble in this size, fabric, and design. It is available at a reduced price and can ship to you in 3-5 business days. Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

ALL THE DETAILS
This Regency ensemble is a women's size 10-12 (medium/large) and is ideal for heights of about 5'7" to 5'9". These two pieces can be worn together or mixed with other pieces in your Regency wardrobe to create new looks (i.e. the petticoat can be worn under or over a white gown, as seen in extant fashion plates).
The bodiced petticoat features:
- a 100% cotton lightweight sateen in a berry color
- two cotton twill tape drawstrings: one in the top of the front bodice and one in the underbust band
- a back closure of buttons and the underbust drawstring
- a skirt that is fitted in the front and pleated in the back
The short gown features:
- a 100% cotton print of light green and purple on a dark green ground
- a fully lined bodice (lined with 100% cotton lawn)
- a cotton twill drawstring at the underbust and front neckline, to allow for adjustability
- front closure with the twill ties (which hide in the full gathers)
- long sleeves
- cuffs with buttons at the wrists
The MEASUREMENTS are as follows:
- bust: 40"
- underbust: 33"
- back nape of neck to hem: 58"
- sleeve length (underarm to end of sleeve): 21.5"
PLEASE NOTE: Purchasing this ensemble does NOT include the chemisette, scarf, or any other accessories shown on the model. You can, however, purchase the chemisette separately from Stitchin' Addiction.
To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this gown is to be worn over a shift, stays, and petticoat, but no shift, stays, or petticoat are included with this listing. This gown is made to fit over stays and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF
Please measure yourself while wearing the stays and other undergarments you plan to wear with the items. Remember that measurements such as your bust and underbust should be smaller than the ensemble measurements by about an inch, to allow for ease of movement.
Refer to the measurement graphic in the listing and the video tutorial if you need assistance in understanding and taking your measurements. If you still have additional questions, please feel free to message me. If you would like it altered to fit your measurements, please message me for alteration pricing, as that will be an additional cost.
