OSA: Fichus (1795-1825)

A fichu was usually worn during the day to fill in the neckline of the low-necked Regency styles for both warmth and modesty purposes.  These fichus are ready-to-ship and based off extant examples that can be found here.  

There are three fichus available.  The triangle one with an overlocker rolled hem was made from a remnant and has never been used.  The square one and the triangle ones, each with a hand rolled and machine stitched hem were used several times in photoshoots, but have been washed and are in like new condition.  All are being sold at a discount.  Shipping within the U.S. is FREE for all orders over $50.

Triangle fichu #1 includes:

• 100% cotton voile in white
• a narrow rolled hem done by a serger/overlocker
  
• a triangle that is half of a 36" square

Triangle fichu #2 includes:

• 100% cotton voile in white
• a narrow hand-rolled hem that is machine stitched
  
• a triangle that is half of a 36" square

Square fichu includes:

• 100% cotton lawn in white
• a narrow hand-rolled hem that is machine straight stitched
• a 24" square

The fichu is shown over the proper undergarments, a shift and stays, and with a Regency era dress, but no shift, stays, or dress come with this purchase.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but this fichu can be machine washed in cold water, dried on low heat, and pressed with a hot iron. 

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items that have buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
