Limited Edition: Jane Austen's Wardrobe - Pink Gown (1801-1810)

One of the dresses that Jane Austen mentions in her surviving letters is a pink gown: "I shall want two new colored gowns for the summer, for my pink one will not do more than clear me from Steventon."  This Limited Edition dress is inspired by pink gowns seen in fashion plates at the turn of century.

There is only ONE (1) available of this design, so purchase now if you want this dress!  The dress will be made in the Jane's Morning Gown design (a $289 value).  This set is available in all sizes from XS to 5X.

ALL THE DETAILS

This dress is made-to-order to your measurements. Within 3-5 business days of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit.

The dress includes:

• 100% cotton eyelet fabric in a pale pink
• fully lined bodice (lined with 100% cotton lawn)
• front wrap closure
• a drawstring that runs under the bust, to allow for adjustability
• elbow length sleeves with a tuck on on the end
• double ruffles on the bottom of the skirt
• a skirt that is gathered in back center, but fitted on the front and sides
  

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, Austen's dress would be worn over a shift and stays, but no shift and stays are included with this listing. This dress is made to fit over historical stays and will not fit correctly over modern undergarments. However, if you would like your commissioned dress to fit over modern undergarments, please communicate this on your measurement worksheet, and I will be happy to oblige!  

The dress will be hemmed to sit about 2" off the floor, based on the measurements you provide.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but this cotton dress will be washable.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
