Custom Mary Shelley Gown for Laura (Non-refundable Downpayment)

This is a custom listing reserved for Laura and is the first payment of two.

As a custom piece, this item is professionally handmade at my Texas (USA) studio and will be completed and shipped by the end of September 2023, provided the first payment is made by May 31, 2023, and the final payment is made by August 15, 2023.

ALL THE DETAILS

Purchase of this listing includes the first two steps for recreating Mary Shelley's gown as seen in the painting done by Richard Rothwell.

These steps are:

• finalizing the dress design and details, including providing a sketch
• finding and purchasing the dress fabric, the gold trim, and the lace trim (with feedback from the client)
• assisting the client, if needed, in taking accurate measurements via a video-conferencing platform (the measurement worksheet will be sent to your email 48 hours after this purchase and you can let me know if you are confident taking the measurements yourself or if you need help)

Shelley's gown will be replicated as closely as possible from the one seen in the fashion plate.

Once the steps have been completed, the final payment will be due, which will be between $900-1,250; I will let you know the exact amount that will be due once the supplies have been purchased and your measurements received (by July 15, 2023).  After that payment, work on the gown will commence.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but if you choose a silk or wool fabric, it will be dry clean only.  Most dresses made with cotton, linen, or polyester fabrics can be washed.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
