Custom 1860s Dress Alterations for Kristina (Non-refundable Downpayment)

This is a custom listing reserved for Kristina and is the first payment of two.

As a custom piece, this item is professionally handmade at my Texas (USA) studio and will be completed and shipped by May 15, 2023, based on the following conditions:

• The first payment must be made by February 28, 2023
• The dress for alterations must be received by March 31, 2023
• The final payment must be made by May 14, 2023

ALL THE DETAILS

Purchase of this listing includes the following steps for altering an existing dress to look similar to the 1860s dress seen in the listing photo.

These steps are:

• sourcing a coordinating plaid fabric (with feedback from the client)
• assisting the client, if needed, in taking accurate measurements via a video-conferencing platform (the measurement worksheet will be sent to your email 24-48 hours after this purchase and you can let me know if you are confident taking the measurements yourself or if you need help)
• altering the existing dress 

The alterations include:

• removing the bodice from the skirt, shortening the bodice, adding a plaid waistband, and reattaching the skirt 
• adding a plaid band at the hem to add length (from the length taken out at the bodice) and interest
• adding plaid epaulettes on the sleeves
• shortening the sleeves

Once the steps have been completed, the final payment will be due, which will be between $99-149; I will let you know the exact amount that will be due once the plaid fabric has been decided on and alterations made (by April 30, 2023).  After that payment, the altered dress will be shipped back.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but if you choose a silk or wool fabric, it will be dry clean only.  Most dresses made with cotton, linen, or polyester fabrics can be washed.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
