The skirt and shirtwaist (blouse) became popular during the late 1800s, especially for working women.  A woman would have had plain shirtwaists for every day wear, and a fancy blouse, like this one, for special occasions.  This delicate shirtwaist can be worn with both your historical and everyday wardrobes.  It is patterned based on extant examples and drafting and construction books from the turn of the century.

When you purchase a made-to-order item, you get the shirtwaist of your dreams by choosing the fabric from the drop-down options, providing measurements for a custom fit, and even purchasing extra available add-ons! (Search the website for “add-ons” to see what's available!)  Please note that trims such as lace, braid, etc. will vary slightly depending on stock available. This shirtwaist is made-to-order: choose the size that you currently wear in contemporary sizing and choose the fabric combination from the fabric choices.  Within 48 hours of receiving your order, I will send you a measurement worksheet listing the measurements required for a perfect fit.

This shirtwaist includes:

• 100% cotton lawn fabric
• 100% cotton insertion lace (lace and design may vary slightly on each blouse)
  
• insertion lace on the bodice, sleeves, and collar
• a high neckband collar
  
• a back button closure
• pin tucks on the sleeves
• button detail at the wrist
• a shirttail to tuck into your skirt/pants/etc
  

To achieve the correct historical silhouette, this shirtwaist should be worn over over combinations, a corset, and petticoat, but no combinations, corset, or petticoat are included with this listing. However, this shirtwaist can also be worn with modern undergarments, if you prefer!

It is pictured with Anne's Walking Skirt and a belt, but neither of these are included with the purchase of this listing.

Measure your bust and waist to determine which size to order and choose your size based on the pictured sizing guidelines. For the most accurate fit, please take the measurements while wearing your corset and other undergarments (i.e. chemise, petticoat, etc).

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

A care card will be included with your order, but because this shirtwaist is cotton, it can be handwashed.

All fabrics are preshrunk, usually by prewashing.  Seller is not responsible for any allergic reactions to the detergent used in prewashing.

Items with buttons will arrive with an extra button sewn inside.
